When and why did you become a hair designer? When I first came to this country, I helped my aunts and uncles in their salons just so I could earn some money. I became intrigued with the chemical work and how hair color and texture could be successfully changed to improve a person's appearance. I became an official apprentice to my uncle, learned the trade and branched out on my own. I first became an owner in 1990 and have expanded from there.
Favorite aspect: Challenging myself to perfect the latest and most effective techniques for applying hair color, perms, and straightening processes, challenging stylists to increase their clientele by improving their customer service and operating and expanding salons so employees can be successful and clients are continually satisfied.
Three words that describe you: Competitive, Intuitive and Hard working
What would you like our readers to know? I love to play games, any games but especially soccer, racquetball, poker, and chess. I admire people who work hard and have common sense.

When and why did you become a hair designer? I apprenticed with Robert Novel at Hair, Inc. in Georgetown from 1970-72 and started on floor in 1972. I went to a year of school at Corcoran Art and decided there was a lot of competition. So I learned a trade that was artistic. I also like to work with people.
